Verifiable workforce credentials for the net-zero sector using secure digital certificates
Tamper-proof digital credentials for the net-zero workforce.
The Challenge
The UK’s net-zero transition depends on a rapidly growing skilled workforce — retrofit assessors, heat-pump installers and other green-skills roles — whose competence must be demonstrable to employers, certification schemes and customers. Paper and PDF training certificates are easy to forge, hard to verify and awkward to track across a fragmented training market, undermining trust in the very credentials the sector relies on.
The Solution
NquiringMinds worked with NetZero Training Limited to develop secure digital training certificates for net-zero workers: cryptographically signed credentials that a training provider can issue and any relying party can verify, backed by NQM’s expertise in signed data, secure identity and trusted data exchange.
Outcomes
The short, six-month project delivered the secure digital-certificate approach for NetZero Training’s courses, giving the training provider a route to issue tamper-proof, machine-verifiable certificates. Led for NQM by Nick Allott and Hannah Dalton.
TODO: record specific deliverables and outcomes for the secure digital training-certificate work (not captured in the Projects Summary).
