Northern Ireland Audit Office (NIAO)
The Northern Ireland Audit Office (NIAO) is the public-sector audit body responsible for auditing the accounts of public bodies in Northern Ireland and reporting on the proper preparation of financial statements. Led by the Comptroller and Auditor General for Northern Ireland, it is independent of government and reports to the Northern Ireland Assembly on the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of public spending.

Relationship
NIAO is a former NquiringMinds customer. NQM delivered multi-phase financial-audit improvement work for the NIAO — developing AI and data-enabled tooling that helps audit teams import, analyse and interrogate datasets from multiple financial-reporting systems — through the public-sector audit GovTech Catalyst / SBRI route, across feasibility, development and extension phases. The engagement was led by Craig Rafter. See the NIAO project page for phasing and delivery detail.
