The UK Ministry of Defence is the government department responsible for the nation’s armed forces and defence policy. It is one of the largest UK government departments, directing the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force and sponsoring agencies and bodies including the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA).

NQM’s engagements span several MoD bodies, including the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA).
NQM is a non-traditional supplier that originally developed secure applications for smart cities and has since broken into the defence supply chain. It delivered work through the DASA Defence Technology Exploitation Programme (DTEP), which aims to improve the competitiveness of the UK defence supply chain; DTEP is sponsored by the MoD’s Directorate of Industrial Strategy and Exports (DISE) and delivered through DASA, Innovate UK and ADS. NQM’s machine learning, originally developed for a DASA cybersecurity project, combines data from many sources to increase automation, reduce personnel burden and make recommendations on the trustworthiness of incoming data.
